12 © 2012 Autodesk File Structure  Create your directory structure with forward thinking so you do not have to move items later.  Keep the filename of the part the same as you want to see it in the browser.  When saving your master asset files, keep it in the same directory structure as published.

Cons  Each elevation will be a new instance… more variations  Requires Connector Classes Alternative – Create a work plane and create a constraint for the items to that plane. By performing work in this fashion, you can change the elevation of all these items at the same time.

21 © 2012 Autodesk Check Perform UAT on each asset. 1. Publish to a temporary library. 2. Roundtrip each item after modification. 3. Open the item in Navisworks. 4. Verify Plan Views are updating correctly in AutoCAD. 5. Add to a master list.

22 © 2012 Autodesk Don'ts  Fillets and Curves – Only as necessary  Emboss Text – minimum  iMates – ouch  Materials – ex. - Expanded Mesh – Does not convert to Navisworks or AutoCAD.

23 © 2012 Autodesk Administration Tips Limit number of authors. Keep a master catalog file with all the assets you have created in one file(s). You will be asked for this in the future. Use the master catalog file to test new versions of FDS against existing files and assets as you migrate to new versions. Perform Quality Control.
