September 2005 DEA: First National Workshop 18 GNESD - Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development To work for reaching the MDGs by knowledge generation and networking in the energy policy research field. Created a global Network, generated knowledge on access to electricity for the poor. Workshops side events and publications.

September 2005 DEA: First National Workshop 19 EUEI – EU Energy Initiative for Poverty Eradication and Sustainable Development To take forward the international consensus on the important contribution of energy to help meet the MDGs. To provide practical guidance on issues of financing sustainable and pro-poor energy services Regional Workshops: Ouagadougou (10/04) and Maputo (4/05) A number of project proposals in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific countries are being considered Development of EU/ACP Energy Facility (€220 million) to announce call for proposals by Feb. 2006 PDF – Partnership Dialogue Facility – supported by a number of EU Member States, coordinated by GTZ.
