3 3 Board Policy 2010 The Board of Directors, which has ultimate responsibility for the operation of the District, expects that the shared decision- making process will be used to create the best possible learning environment for all students. Decisions must be consistent with applicable law, regulations, Board policy, and collective bargaining agreements.

The following are the basic premises of shared decision-making in Central Kitsap School District:

7 7 CKESP/CKSD Agreement 1.All sites will have a Shared Decision- Making Team (SDT) in order to facilitate effective and efficient shared decision- making. Specific organizations, member selection criteria, procedures, and goals are to be determined by individual sites.

8 8 CKESP/CKSD Agreement 2.A District Shared Decision-Making Committee (DSDC) will be established to determine appropriate SDT guidelines and operating principles for the District. The DSDC will assist teams with training as needed. The DSDC composition and responsibilities are outlined below:

This waiver request must be signed by 2/3rds of the classified employees whose contractual rights under the collective bargaining agreement would be changed by the waiver. 20 20 CKEA/CKSD Agreement (cont’d) The DSDC will determine the distribution of site SDT annual allotments. The allotment will be $160 per FTE staff. The total FTE, by location and funding source, will be in direct relationship to where the employee’s base contract is charged on October 1. 21 21 CKEA/CKSD Agreement (cont’d) 3.Any aspect of a SDT decision found to be contrary to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement may only be implemented after a letter of agreement has been obtained.
