But this extraordinary change did not just effect England. Historian Gardner commented that, “the Industrial Revolution was another one of those extraordinary jumps forward in the story of civilization.” England revolutionized the world with their new technology during the Industrial Revolution through spinning wheels, steam engines, and railroads.

This revolution enabled the Western world to dominate world leadership, creating a heavily westernization mind set from the 19th century to today. If any country wanted to 'modernize,' they had to copy the West's example with an Industrial Revolution. Even today, second and third world countries are not considered 'modern' unless they follow the model of the West.
