2 At 130º, a serious burn can occur in 30 seconds. At 140º, only 5 seconds are required. The time may be reduced by 50 percent or more for children under age 5. Bathroom Dangers

3 Water Temperature in your Home The maximum temperature of your water heater should not be higher than 125ºF; lower your setting to 120° – 125ºF Consider installing pressure balancing/thermostatically controlled valves; reduce water temp to 115ºF or less Gas water heaters can be adjusted easily Electric water heaters require disconnecting the electricity and removing the cover plates to adjust the thermostat
