These solutions have active/passive components attached to most pins which makes it difficult to perform accurate 4 quadrant testing and preventing interactive ESD. They also require some level of functionality to perform testing. Our proposed PFIT system provides a pure connection between an industry standard calibrated tester and the DUT. No functionality of the DUT is required for parametric troubleshooting and bin 8 testing. The expected decrease in TPT of this system is as much as 100x in some cases. This system is not intended to compete with existing solutions, but rather fill the testing gaps that currently exist.

The system price also includes National Instruments LabView and Switch Executive Software as well as all cabling and circuit boards. Since the system uses the same interposers as the SBTS, the only long-term cost is the development of a new family board for each product (expected cost is ~$6k for design and manufacture). The project is being developed by a small team through collaboration with Portland State University.
