5.  Another reason that we use quotation marks is to indicate the direct speech or writing of someone.  When doing this, there are several rules to follow:  Always tell who said/wrote the quote! You may either introduce or conclude a quote with the source.  After your introduction, put a comma.  If you are quoting a complete sentence, capitalize the first letter inside the quotation marks.  Always place end marks INSIDE the quotation marks.  For example:  According to Theodore Roosevelt, “What is to give light must endure the burning.”  “What is to give light must endure the burning,” said Theodore Roosevelt.
