2 She could use size and shape to pick the coins up out of the sand. She could use a sieve, strainer, filter and/or screen to separate the coins from the sand. She could NOT use a magnet, because neither coins nor sand are magnetic. She could NOT use water, because both coins and sand will sink, and neither are soluble in water.
