Write your response on the back of the card! Turn to a new paper in your notebook and number from 1-30. “Label it 2 nd 9 weeks.” Here are the first 5 word wall words and their definitions. 13 PARTS of a Poem 3 minutes Title: name of the poem; quotation marks unless it’s a really long Subject: what the poem is about in 3 words or less (young love, mother/son bond, etc) Speaker: the person talking in a poem (like a narrator or main character) Verse: one line of a poem Refrain: a part of a poem that is repeated (like the chorus of a song) Stanza: a section of a poem; there are breaks between each (like a paragraph)
