Tidal energy Austin Rogacki

Wave energy Wave energy, it is efficient and uses only the natural motion of the water. It works by pushing air in and out of the buoy then turning a generator

Other tidal power Tidal power has some variation but the majority of it follows the same general concept, which is having a large underwater turbine that gets spun by movment of the water. It is like wind power just underwater.

Advantages of tidal power It does not take up any room on land It is constant and always will produce electricity There is little or no impact to local wildlife It is total “green energy”

Disadvantages of tidal power It is not the most efficient way to produce power. Dams on rivers can impede in rivers can impede on the amount of power produced Some wildlife may be effected

Why do we have tides? We have tides because of the moon. The gravitational pull on the earth and the ocean, causing the ocean to distort and move.

The bay of Fundy We could use the bay of Fundy as a location to produce tidal energy because it has the largest tide in the world. The water will rise or fall up to 6 feet depending on the tide. This would create a huge amount of power if the tides could be properly harnessed
