Bringing Global Precision

History  The Crescent story is one of humble beginnings. From a company with a small outlay, today, Crescent Valves possesses multiple manufacturing units in Gujarat with tie up facilities in Mumbai, India. With its arsenal of sophisticated equipment and experienced personnel, Crescent has earned and successfully executed prestigious Power, Oil, Steel and Petrochemical projects in India.  Globally, Crescent has established growing markets in the Middle East, South East Asia, Africa, the U.S.A., Europe and Japan.

Mission  As we constantly strive to bring out the best in the industry, we have not lost sight of ground realities. It's our firm belief that the way to serve our clients is by manufacturing cost effective products that also ensures quality.  The obsession with quality has ensured Crescent international repute. All valves are manufactured as per international standard: API, IS, ANSI, AWWA, MSS, BS, DIN, ISO and JIS.  Stringent fault detection techniques guarantee that every single valve carries the stamp of precision. Elaborate quality control procedures are in the safe hands of technically proficient personnel. They are backed by an array of advanced testing machines. With such levels of quality assurance, Crescent Valves has won approvals from ARAMCO (Saudi Arabia), ADNOC (U.A.E.), KNPC, ONGC, NTPC, EIL, Bureau Veritas, Lloyds, PDIL, MECON, M.N. DASTOOR and Indian Boiler Regulations.  Crescent have the technical know-how from M/s Thevignot of France in Ball Valves and Plug Valves (sizes up to 30 inches & pressure ratings up to 2500 psig). The import of high precision technology from a world leader in valve manufacture has added new dimensions of quality to process control in India.

Vision  In every towering epic of growth in the beginning was a vision, a dream to excel, the desire to succeed.  At Crescent Valves this unflinching will to grow has been the story during every moment of its 60 year existence. A growth that has been nurtured by a strong commitment to quality. A far-sighted management professing to this creed of quality has steered Crescent to a pinnacle position in the Flow Control Industry.  Crescent continues to pledge its assistance to the dynamic growth of the Indian industry.  Crescent Valves. The story of quality and growth continues.

Valve Selection Criteria  1. Pressure.  2. Temperature.  3. Type of fluid.  Liquid  Gas, i.e., steam or air  Dirty or abrasive (erosive)  Corrosive  4. Flow Considerations  On-off or Throttling  Is the valve needed to prevent Backflow  Concern for pressure drop  Velocity  Vacuum considerations 5. Operating conditions  Frequency of operation  Accessibility  Overall space/size available  Manual or automated control  Need for bubble-tight shut-off  Concerns about body joint leaks  Fire safe design  Speed of closure  Fugitive Emissions

Valve typesLinear motionRotary motionQuarter turn Gate Valvex Globe valvex Plug valvexx Ball valvexx Butterfly valvexx Diaphragm valvex Pinch valvex Classification of Valves The following are some of the commonly used valve classifications, based on mechanical motion: Linear Motion Valves. The valves in which the closure member, as in gate, globe, diaphragm, pinch moves in a straight line to allow, stop, or throttle the flow. Rotary Motion Valves. When the valve-closure member travels along an angular or circular path, as in butterfly, ball, plug valves. Quarter Turn Valves. Some rotary motion valves require approximately a quarter turn, 0 through 90°, motion of the stem to go to fully open from a fully closed position or vice versa.

There are factors govern the basic materials selection  Corrosion-resistance requirements.  Thermal shock.  Piping stress.  Fire hazard. Types of materials typically available include, Carbon steel and Alloy Steels Ductile iron. Cast iron. Stainless steels including Duplex and Super Duplex Materials Brass, Bronze and Gun Metal. High Alloys including Monel and Inconnel Polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Body Materials For small valves are usually brass, bronze, or forged steel For larger valves, castings are preferred.
