You not only hurt yourself but your team as well. Make academics a priority. Discuss conflicts with your coach early so there are no surprises. Grades will be checked every Tuesday, there will be consequences for every zero and failing grade.

7 PLAYER EXPECTATIONS Be Responsible with Your Equipment
It is your responsibility to provide care, storage, and return for all athletic equipment. The athlete will be held responsible for all payment of equipment, if not returned. Quitting (FISA Athletic Handbook) If you quit the team, you may not be allowed back on the team. It is up to the discretion coaching staff. If you decide to go to another sport, it is up to the head coaches of those sports to decide if you can play or not.

8 PLAYER EXPECTATIONS Game Preparation
Everyone will help get the field ready for home games and help pick up the field when finished. For home games teams should be back and dressed out prior to game time. Varsity athletes should be there for the start of the JV game and JV players will stay for the varsity match. Sit together and watch the game that is going on. Show your maturity, act with respect for yourself and Reedy. Athletes will never talk to a ref unless asked a question or is the team captain.

9 PLAYER EXPECTATIONS Practice is the Most Important Part of our Season
Be on time to practice. Proper practice attire, shin guards/shoes on, and any injuries taped prior to practice. Tutorials need to be taken care of before school or during lunch. Any conflicts need to be arranged prior to practice. No missing practices for any reason unless you have been notified and made arrangements with me in advance. I must have a phone call or from your parents. Everyone will help move goals and get out equipment as well as put everything up. Attendance of practice and school the day of the game is mandatory. The head coach must be notified if an athlete is ill and unable to attend practice or a game.

If you miss a school game for club, you will miss the next school match as well

12 LION FOUR WAY TEST Coaches believe in Coaches
As a Reedy Lion soccer player, all players and coaches will adhere to the 4 way test to strengthen us as a unit of one: Coaches believe in Coaches Coaches believe in Players Players believe in Players Players believe in Coaches This model will ensure that a belief system is in place to garner success at all times! It is a model that must be used and incorporated daily to achieve maximum success.

13 RESPECT RESPECT for the ball, treat it well at all time.
RESPECT for the game and the fans. RESPECT for your teammates and your school. RESPECT for the principle of the game…be loyal to them. RESPECT for the opponent you are facing. RESPECT for the moral integrity to win. RESPECT for the TEAM, the UNIFORM, the PROGRAM and it’s FUTURE: PRIDE!

14 PARENT EXPECTATIONS Support The Team and Players Unconditionally
You never know who is in the stands. Make comments positive and constructive. We are all here for the team, not the parents. Don’t become the center of attention by arguing with referees or yelling at players, and coaches on the other team. Do not coach your daughter…let the coaches take care of it. Too much coaching can actually harm soccer players. Follow team guidelines and support the coach to ensure success. Make as many games as possible to support the team.

15 PARENT EXPECTATIONS Communication is Key
Keep an open line of communication with the coaches. Issues should not be addressed after a game or practice. The “24 hour rule” should be followed. Allow 24 hours to let tensions cool before contacting the coach. If you want to have a meeting, a time will be set up when a coach, parent and the athlete will be present. Do not ask about playing time, game strategies and other players. Write a note, call, or send an informing the coaches at least one day before your daughter will miss practice, game, meetings or any events. Emergency situations will be considered. This communication must come from a parent.

16 PARENT EXPECTATIONS Be On Time Be An Active Part of the Team
Have your daughter to school on time for practice, games, and tournaments. Pick up your daughter on time or make other arrangements for her return home. Be An Active Part of the Team Booster Club Banquet Concession Stands Team Dinners/Activities

17 INJURIES/TREATMENTS Athletic Trainer – John Hicks
RHS Orthopedic – Dr. Jeffrey Lue Before you go to the doctor, have Coach Hicks or Dr. Lue look at the injury. Treatment must be done before or after practice Athlete/Parents must communicate with us about injuries and treatment

18 3 Strike Policy We will operate with a 3 strike policy for our athletes. The following infractions could result in a strike against an athlete: -Failing on a report card (through duration of school year) -Discipline issues at school, ISS, OSS, etc. -Disrespect of player, program, school or coach on any form of social network. -Inappropriate behavior toward class mate, team mate, LHS staff members in a school setting. -Repeated tardies/absent from practice Infractions will be documented, parents will be notified and extra conditioning will result. Program strikes do not carry over from the previous school year.

19 FISD Lettering Policy

20 Sharing of athletes No female athlete will be told that they cannot be involved in as many activities as possible at RHS. (This decision will be left to athlete and parent) Coaches will communicate with student athletes and each other to share “honest information” when asked by athlete concerning specific issues.

21 Off Season Student athletes will be expected to be involved in the off season of the upcoming season that they will be participating in. Coaches will communicate and work together to work situations that are in the best interest of multi-sport student athletes.

22 PARENT / COACH RELATIONSHIPS AT REEDY HS
Understanding and respecting the position of both parents and coaches will help enhance the athletic experience for our kids. CHAIN OF COMMAND Player to coach of that team Player to head coach and coach of that team Player and parent with coaches Player and parent with coaches and administration Please do not attempt to confront a coach before or after a contest or practice. Emotions are running too high and do not promote positive results or resolutions.
