2 “Collaborating for Defense Manufacturing Strength” 2 Wrap-Up Action Items: 1.John Olewink will notify Ed Morris and John VanKirk when the DLA press release is issued on IBIF program status. Ed and John will pass this notice on to the Mfg Division membership. 2.Adele asked the Division to identify pockets of expertise in specific manufacturing technologies that can provide resources to support MRAs. Send this input to Richard Buentello. 3.John Olewink asked the Division to provide Jim Mattice with suggested SBIRs to spotlight at DMC. 4.Jim Mattice would like suggestions for DMC 2009 venues, preferably on the east coast.

3 “Collaborating for Defense Manufacturing Strength” 3 Wrap-Up Action Items: 5.Kevin Fischer asked for thoughts on the nomination committee effort to identify a division chairman and vice- chairman at the end of the current term that expires the end of this current calendar year. 6.Kristen Baldwin, OSD SSE, requested NDIA feedback on MRLs. Division members please respond to the survey! 7.Kristen Baldwin requested Division feedback to help respond to Congressional Directive. Specifically: a.What are key Human Systems Integration (HIS) activities, initiatives, capabilities that exist today b.Where gaps or issues exist 8.Supply Chain Comm. to recommend business schools the Division should engage to complement Tech/Eng Schools.

4 “Collaborating for Defense Manufacturing Strength” 4 Wrap-Up Action Items: 9.Exec Committee to confirm venues for Nov and May meetings. 10.Communication Committee a.Ron requested everyone to forward white paper to local political representatives. b.Jorge Pica/Ed Morris will discuss a second White Paper c.Committee will seek congressional speakers for May meeting d.Gordon Stables to provide Gov’t Relations 101 at a future meeting. e.Ron will talk to NDIA management about a press release for the white paper just released. f.Ron suggested a ITAR bootcamp at a future meeting conducted by an H&K attorney.

5 “Collaborating for Defense Manufacturing Strength” 5 Wrap-Up Action Items: 11.Ed and John will revise Division charts to reflect the new committee name: “DoD Supply Network Management” after confirming with Executive Committee. Consider “Supplier” in place of “Supply”. 12.Workforce Committee will continue to facilitate the Workforce topic at DMC 2008. 13.Workforce Committee to host a 2009 Workforce Conference in April/May.
