Place correctly around dog’s neck “P” shape over head and on to dog’s neck Leather Leash Leather is easier on hands Chain leashes are dangerous

7 Treats Your dog receives lots of praise and a treat when he models the correct behavior. A treat can be Food A favorite ball or toy Play time

8 Keep in Mind When you are with your dog, you do one of two things:
You train him or You untrain him

Say dog’s name Give command once Step out with left foot Give lots of praise Example: “Duke, heel” and step forward with left foot
