1 Maintaining Your Macs Save any old projects to mini-dv tape or DVD Trash any un-needed Video Projects For those using Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Express Clean up your Scratch Disk Area Double click on the computer’s HD Double Click on Users Double Click on Documents Double Click on Final Cut Pro Documents Double Click on Audio Render Files and Trash unneeded files Do the same for Autosave Vault, Capture Scratch, and Render Files Run Disk Repair (see separate instruction page)

2 Maintaining Your Macs Save any old projects to mini-dv tape or DVD Trash any un-needed Video Projects Run Disk Repair –Double Click on your Hard Drive –Double Click on Applications –Double Click on Utilities –Double Click on Disk Utility.app –Select the Hard Drive icon –Select Repair Disk Permissions –After Repair Process is complete run Repair Disk Permissions a second time. –This procedure should be done twice a month AND before and after any software is installed or uninstalled.

3 Maintaining Your Macs Watch Out for Crimped Cords Make sure desk area is clean so computer mouse stays clean. Regularly Dust Off Computers and Keyboards –Use a soft cloth and keyboard brush –Do not use ammonia products on screens –Cover Computers and keyboards if possible Purchase Air Spray Cans –Blow off inside of CPU, cooling fans, keyboards
