4 Your Family  Your Family is a very important influence on your life  Your families values, traditions, and beliefs build up your character

5 Peer Pressure  Peer: someone your age that you interact with.  Peer pressure: when your peers pester you to do something  Groups of friends an have a powerful influence on people  Negative peer pressure: pressure to do something harmful  Positive peer pressure: pressure to do something beneficial

6 Other Influences In Your Life  Very powerful messages come from the media  Not all media messages are correct  Quackery: deliberately making false claims about products or services
