12 Shingles Grinding by Omann (continued) Three stage grinding process Nails removed by a series of magnets and a metal detector July 18, 2006 observation by Mn/DOT and Hennepin County RAS stockpiled for a month prior to use. “Fluffed” immediately prior to use in HMA plant.

13 Omann Paving August 22, 2006, Omann Brothers first graded and then compacted the gravel road in preparation for paving August 23, 2006, the base course of hot-mix asphalt was applied August 25, 2006 the wear course was applied

21 Observations of Pavement Performance To-Date Mn/DOT has conducted two field surveys – March 2007 – September 17, 2007 Cracking – No observed pre-mature cracking Rutting – Using a FACE Dipstick® – Slight and irregular rutting with no significant difference between mix types
