1 Introduction: Have you ever held a part of the earth in your two hands? Guess what? You actually have! ROCKS! Rocks and minerals are what the entire earth’s surface is made of!

2 Task 0 Today we will be discussing and classifying the different types of rocks, being metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous. In groups of three, you will be working on the web to learn more about the different types of rocks and creating a PowerPoint on how each rock type is formed, and the process they undergo to be created. 0 At the end of the two week period you will present your PowerPoint to the class.

3 Process 1. First you will explore the web and learn more about the three different types of rocks, how they are formed and the process they undergo to be formed. 2. Create a organized PowerPoint discussing each rock specifically, how it is formed, then the process it undergoes. Within the PowerPoint I am expecting: 1. Introducing all three rocks, identifying the rocks with pictures and or videos, on separate slides. 2. Then discuss exactly how each rock is formed, again each rock should have their own slide. 3. Lastly be able to share on your PowerPoint the process rocks undergo to be formed. This can be done with written descriptions or to finding videos on the web of the process they undergo. Be Creative! *Each member of the group will be assigned to one of the three rocks, and will be responsible for each of the specific rocks slides.*
