What factors allowed the British to almost win the war in 1776? greater numbers superior training overwhelmed the inexperienced Americans at New York and in other battles in 1776

How were the Americans able to win such an overwhelming victory at Trenton? Washington had his troops cross the Delaware River on Christmas night, taking the enemy by surprise early the next morning 3. How did victories at Trenton and Princeton affect American morale? showed that the Americans could beat the British and their allies, greatly boosted American morale KEY TERMS: Find a picture of a Hessian mercenary from the Revolutionary War.
