In Draper’s novel, there is a sense of racial prejudice among the love- stricken teens by a gang that does not agree with their relationship. The novel gives more insight into problems that many young people face today.

9. My Perspective In my point of view, Draper’s Romiette and Julio symbolizes a hope that many young people have today of finding that special someone. I also feel that when that special person is found, anything will be done to try and stay with that person no matter what. Real love is hard to find, but once it is found, is it worth the sacrifice?
