The Essay

INTRODUCTION Make sure you mention 3 or 4 things that you are going to write about in your essay. The man stumbled through the woods. How did he get here. All he remembers is the pain, the gun, the screeching wheels, and the phone call. I agree that HIV/AIDS is not a real threat. I will explain my viewpoint by referring to the health service, treatment and resilience. 1234

Paragraph 1 Paragraph one must be about the first thing you mentioned in your introduction paragraph. If it was the red block, you write about the red block. My head is throbbing with pain. I can feel dry blood in my hair. I feel a deep cut when I tenderly touch the tender spot. I must have been unconscious for some time. Suddenly I remember what caused the pain. We have a very effective health service in South Africa. There is a clinic in every town. Each clinic provides anti-retroviral medicine to people suffering from HIV/AIDS. People can also be tested at these clinics. HIV/AIDS is not such a serious problem because everybody has access to healthcare. 1

Paragraph 2 Paragraph two must be about the second you mentioned in your introduction paragraph. If it was the blue block, you write about the blue block. I was hit with a gun. Suddenly I realise that I am lying near the front door. Their must have been a struggle because the lock is almost completely destroyed. I remember running for the door. But why? Suddenly there were shots and splinters everywhere. Someone entered and hit me. I hear a dull peeping noise. Treatment is available to all. If you don’t want to use medicine you must eat healthy. The latest HIV/AIDS advertisements encourage people by saying Aids can be treated, suggesting it is manageable. Surely something that can be managed is not a threat. 2

Paragraph 3 Paragraph three must be about the third you mentioned in your introduction paragraph. If it was the yellow block, you write about the yellow block. The dull peeping noise is the phone. I can remember the urgent ringing of the phone. When I answered I heard Lisa’s frantic scream “They are coming! They are coming! Lock the door!” Who was coming? Why? What did the people want? The human being is resilient. If the disease can be managed, humans can survive. A human being can adapt very easily to many different situations. Many Jews survived for four years with extreme malnitrition in German concentration camps. The human body adapted. So the human body can adapt to having HIV/AIDS. Soon it will just be something else we live with, like crime. 2

Paragraph 4 Paragraph four must be about fourth thing you mentioned in your introduction paragraph. If it was the pink block, you write about the pink block. Suddenly I remember them coming. I heard the screeching wheels of the car. I remember running to the door to lock it. I remember turning back to get the… to get the prescious Amarillo stone I discovered with Lucy in Egypt. The stone!! I run to to the safe. No!! The safe is cut open and the stone is missing. The only thing left in the safe is the symbol. 2

CONCLUSION In the conlusion you must recap and revisit every paragraph again. Now I know why my head aches, the gun, the phone. I hear wheels burning tyre. It’s Lucy. She is very happy to see me. “We lost it,” I say. Lucy is in tears. “I still have you.” It is now clear why HIV/AIDS is not a threat. With and excellent health service all people have access to treatment. If HIV/AIDS is managed the resilient human will still live a ripe and full life.
