What are Chemical and Biological Weapons? Chemical weapons are weapons that utilize nerve toxins to subdue an enemy. They can be made cheaply and easily. Biological weapons use viruses that reproduce in a host, that can be used for controlling an enemy.

Definitions Chlorine gas is a form of elemental chlorine that is commonly used industrially. It is also a highly toxic gas. This compound was the first poison gas to be used during World War I. Mustard gas is a colorless oily liquid whose vapor is a powerful irritant.\ Sarin is a nerve gas, developed in Germany during World War II. Hydrogen cyanide is a highly poisonous gas or volatile liquid with an odor of bitter almonds, made by the action of acids on cyanides. Tear gas is a gas that causes severe irritation to the eyes.

Pros on Chemical ●The first chemical weapon used effectively in battle was chlorine gas, which burns and destroys lung tissue. ●Modern chemical weapons tend to focus on agents with much greater killing power. ●No giant bombs or missiles were involved so it doesn’t create mass destruction.

Pros on Biological ● You can control a vast amount of people with a single bacteria or virus. ● The virus will spread on its own, as long as it is not contained.

Pros on Chemical ●It is easy to manufacture from common table salt. ●They can be made cheaply and easily. ●Most municipal water systems use it today to kill bacteria.

Cons on Biological ●The nature of human beings are unpredictable. ●Biological weapons go on for long periods of time. ●Biological weapons for more or less than 50 years. ●There was a record of incidents of our own troops. ●Biological weapons kill very many innocent people.

Cons on Chemical ● There is nothing to protect yourself. ●Chemical weapons kill many innocent people. ●A nature of being unpredictable. ●Chemical weapons kill the carriers troops tremendously ● There are many chemical agents that affects the nerve cells in your body.
