1 Warm-Up 1.There are 30 days left of school! 2.Progress reports are turned in May 11 (the week after CSTs). 3.You have 5 minutes to finish your study flashcards. *If you are finished, quiz yourself!

2 Quick Review 1.Get into partners. 2.Switch papers. 3.Quiz each other by saying the word to your partner, having them define it and give an example (if they can’t, describe the picture that they have drawn). Alternate until all words have been reviewed.

3 Test Taking Strategies-Passages Step 1: Read the directions, title, captions, and study pictures. Step 2: Read all questions and all answers. Answer the obvious questions and cross out answers that are definitely wrong. Step 3: Read the topic sentence and transition sentence of every paragraph. Step 4: Answer questions. Step 5: Go back to the text, if necessary, and locate any answers that you could not answer. Step 6: When in doubt, choose B or C. Step 7: When in doubt, choose longest answer.

5 Test Taking Strategies-Spelling Step 1: Read the directions, title, captions, and study pictures. Step 2: Read the word, but do not pay attention to the spelling. Step 3: Write the word how you think it is spelled (do this in the margin, extra paper, and/or whiteboard). Step 4: Eliminate the answers that are definitely wrong. Step 5: Write the remaining choices underneath your original spelling. Step 6: Choose the one that is spelled the closest. Step 7: When in doubt, choose B or C.
