4 Welcome to the Animalympics! You have been chosen to compete in the Animalympics by finding or designing an animal that would beat a record-breaking human in a race. Your animal must belong to the same category as the human: Land, Sea or Air. In groups, you will then be asked to decide which animal in your category deserves a gold, silver or bronze medal. Good luck! Fill in your contender card with your chosen animal, as illustrated on the following slides.

7 Who has won in your event? In event groups, decide which of your animal contenders deserve gold, silver or bronze medals.

8 Who has won overall? As a class, gather all of the gold medal winners in each event together and decide who deserves the overall gold, silver and bronze medals.

9 How did you decide? Which were the most/least important factors? Did everybody agree? Were there some positives or negatives to your choices? Was there a clear winner? Which medal was the easiest to pick? Did the habitat of your animal affect your choices?
