4  He thought trading Iran would help.  Trying to save the U.S hostages.  Traded weapons for the soldiers.  He took money from special agencies.  The bank had $2.8 million in funds. In Iraq Oliver North, December 2007

5  The funds would go to National Endowment for the Preservation of Liberty.  An organization that wanted no part in government.

6  November 1986 it was made public.  Ronald Reagan fired Mr. North.  In July 1987 he had to testify.  North admitted that he had lied.  He was later charged with other things.

7  May 1989 was the final charges.  Was charged sixteen felony counts.  Acceptances of an illegal gratuity.  Aiding in the obstruction of a congressional inquiry.  Abetting in the obstruction of a congressional inquiry.  Destruction of documents.

8  July 20, 1990, North's convictions were vacated.  He got limited immunity for his Congressional testimony.  The testimony couldn’t be used against him later in life.

9  Transportation of cocaine and marijuana.  Plane being used to carry humanitarian aid to the Contras.  That was previously used to transport drugs.  Michael Palmer owned the planes.  He was one of the largest marijuana traffickers.  Palmer received over $300,000 from the Nicaraguan Humanitarian Aid Office.

10  North admitted to shredding the government documents.  North is denied entry to Costa Rica.  Involved in major drug trafficking.  $14 million to finance came from drugs to Costa Rica.

11  In 1994, North ran for Senate for Virginia.  North raised $20.3 million.  Through telemarketing.  Fundraising Events.  Contributions from major donors.  $18 million from nationwide direct mail solicitations.
