3 School year 2013-14 Background St Augustine of Canterbury... Is a one form entry Church of England Primary School in Lower Belvedere, Bexley Borough. Is one of three schools which make up Trinitas Academy Trust, along with Christ Church (Erith) CE Primary and Trinity School. Has a higher than average percentage of Pupil Premium children. Has a higher than average percentage of pupils from ethnic minority backgrounds, with Black African children being the largest ethnic group, representing 48% of the school. Has a large proportion of children (63%) whose first language is other than English. Works closely with St Augustine’s Church to ensure Christian values are at the heart of school life, focus and vision. Successes Pupil progress in EYFS and KS1 is consistently good from low starting points. EAL provision is a strength of the school, as EAL pupils perform in line with their peers. Sports Premium is being well used to professionally develop teachers and improve sporting opportunities for pupils in the school. Developments The school is looking to improve Maths at KS2 and has recruited an outstanding Maths Leader to drive up standards across the school. The school benefits from a relatively new governing body who are actively supporting change and school improvement. Refurbishment and modernisation of the school building will help to achieve the goal of an uplifting and inspiring school environment. 31 October 2015 David Snow Anglican Schools Partnership

4 Partnership Benefits The QEF project enabled teachers to try out and develop effective approaches to feedback and marking. As a result, our Assessment Coordinator has successfully established a new Marking and Feedback Policy, which both teachers and Teaching Assistants use to good effect in improving pupil progress. Opportunities to visit other schools and observe outstanding practice in action has impacted on school improvement. The ASP Leaver’s Service was an uplifting and inspiring event. The core Christian purpose was clearly evident and all the more strengthened through the opportunity to worship together. Head of School’s Comments “ As a new Head of School, I have hugely benefitted from the opportunity to collaborate and network with the ASP leaders and colleagues ” 31 October 2015 David Snow Anglican Schools Partnership
