What are they?) Simple Subject – the most important word in a subject Complete Subject – all of the words that tell whom or what the sentence is about Compound Subject – two or more simple subjects can be joined by a conjunction (or/and) Simple Predicate – the verb Complete Predicate – all of the words that tell what the subject does or is. Compound Predicate – two or more simple predicates (verbs) that are joined by a conjunction (and/or) Conjunctions – connect words (FANBOYS) for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so
