2. Welcome to the Jungle! If your birthday is in January thru March go to table one. If your birthday is in April thru June go to table two. If your birthday is in July thru September go to table three. If your birthday is in October thru December go to table four. Then wait for next instructions…

3. The oldest person in each group is the leader. Leaders need to come to the front of the room and pick up their jungle survival kits from the teacher now. All others silently wait for their leader to return.

4. Obstacle #1 :This is a contest to see which group will get out of the jungle first. When told to do so, your leader will open your jungle kit and your group will swiftly assemble the choose my plate in your kit. Each group on the Choose My Plate needs to be correctly labeled and colored. After the Choose My Plate is complete raise your hand to have it approved by the teacher.

5. Obstacle #2 : Raiders of the Lost Food You will need a food item for each food group on the Choose My Plate. ONE Person at a time from your group will retrieve a food item from the table, sit back down in your seat and once seated tag the next person in the group to go retrieve an item. YOU MUST BE COMPLETELY SEATED BEFORE THE NEXT PERSON IN YOUR GROUP GOES OR YOUR TEAM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED! Each person will have a turn to retrieve a food item until there is one food to represent each group on the Choose My Plate.

8. Here’s a hint, the nuts go in the same group as the meats. Also, what group does the ice cream really go in? DAIRY
