3. CCBMUN XII What is it? A debate is a formal argumentation between two or more teams or individuals. More broadly, and more importantly, a debate is an essential tool for establishing a the points of view of each side, and hopefully come to an agreement. Formal debate: a formal debate is when there are a series of individuals, each with a limited amount of time to have an intervention. Informal debate: an informal debate is when everyone in the room can make an intervention with the proper recognition by the presidents (plackards down, plackards up)

4. CCBMUN XII Procedure of Preparation 1. Be informed about the topic beforehand. 2. Understand your topic so that you can speak about it without doubts. 3. Extract key points or the most relevant ideas from your investigation material. 4. Organize your ideas in your own words so that you wont find yourself reading all the time which could get boring for those paying attention.

Try to use your oral skills rather than reading. Use key words that you can read. Modulate your tone of voice. Use words that you understand, while maintaining formal language at all times
