8. IV. The Fall of Napoleon A.In 1812 France ’ s Army of over 600,000 entered Russia. Napoleon needed to score a quick victory. The Russians would not fight. As the Russians retreated they practiced a scorched-earth policy, burning houses and crops.

16. D.Great Britain and Napoleon would fight again. At Waterloo, Belgium in 1815, Napoleon was defeated by a combined British and Prussian army headed by the Duke of Wellington. The European powers exiled Napoleon to St. Helena Island, Napoleon ’ s power ended.
