3   Confederacy  A loose organization of states  The Story So Far…  Describe four responsibilities the new American government will have directly after winning their Independence from England.  Chart & Share out  Discussion : How difficult will it be to create a new government in America after the Revolutionary war? 4   Focus Question: How did the 13 American states initially attempt to organize themselves politically?  Read Successes of the Articles of Confederation  Describe the powers granted to Congress under the Articles of Confederation  Why did the Founding Fathers create the Articles of Confederation with such limited powers?  Write a claim and support it with a piece of evidence from the text  Extension Activity  Do you believe the American government could ever become a tyranny (government that takes away people’s rights) after all of our history with Democracy?  Share Out Activity 1: The Articles of Confederation Part 1
