8 Topic for Discussion: Combined De Facto & De Jure Some members of the task force proposed to add a new cross-classification of legal and de facto marital status, whereas others were not in agreement. This meeting may wish to discuss whether the following cross-classification should be included in the recommendations. 8

14 Proposed 2020 Revisions  Clarify concept of “Homelessness.”  Revise Household Relationship to include “Registered Partner.”  Explicit inclusion of Same-Sex Marriage in Household Status (optional for countries where it is relevant).  Expanded questions on Internet Access. 14

15 Clarify Concept of “Homelessness” For tabulations of “Homelessness," the following two categories can be considered:  (1.0) Rooflessness: This category includes persons living in the streets without a shelter that would fall within the scope of living.  (2.0) Rootlessness: This category may include persons with no place of usual residence who move frequently between various types of accommodations, but who at least have a roof over their heads at the time of the census. Only the first category, "Rooflessness," comprises people not already included in either private or institutional households. As such, it needs to be accounted for separately. 15

16 Proposed Household Relationship Changes  Include “Registered Partner.”  Dropped “Domestic Servant” as separate category. 16

22 Internet Access For 2020, it is also recommended to collect information on the availability of an Internet connection in the housing unit. 22

(3.0) Access through a mobile device (4.0) More than one mode of access (5.0) No internet access in the housing unit. 23
