OutcomeAssessment Standards Making assessment judgements Apply language skills to investigate a chosen topic by: 1.1 Understanding and evaluating straightforward texts Can show understanding of the ideas in at least two straightforward texts. Can evaluate at least two straightforward texts using appropriate critical terminology. 1.2 Selecting relevant information from the texts Can select information relevant to the topic from at least two straightforward texts. 1.3 Presenting findings on the topics Can present findings from reading/research either orally or in writing. Can use an appropriate structure orally or in writing. 1.4 Responding to oral questions relevant to the topic Can show understanding of oral questions by responding appropriately.

Added Value Unit  Texts can be from contexts of literature, language, or media  One text must be written  “Aspect” or “focus” could be theme related, eg racism, health issues, money in sport.  Findings can be presented in writing or orally  Understand and evaluation required  Candidates must respond to oral questions
