2  Create a series of month names  Use Absolute Cell References in a formula  Use the If function to perform a logical test  Create Sparkline charts in a range of cells  Use the Format Painter to format cells  Create a 3-D pie chart on a separate chart sheet  Answer what If questions  Manipulate large worksheets – Using Freeze and Split Options  Click in the Cell – Click View – Click Freeze – Scroll Down and notice  Click View – Freeze – Unfreeze to undo  Click View – Split and Drag to split the page  (We will do this later)… YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING

3  Column Name (e.g., A, B,C, etc.,) and Row Number  For Example – A3, B4, C5, etc., are cell references (and they are relative cell references)  Absolute Cell References  For Example - $A$3, $B$4, $C$4  Note – You use the Function Key (F4) to put the dollar signs around the Cell Reference to make it Absolute..  When copied – the Absolute Cell Reference Doesn’t Change. Relative Cell References – change when copied. CELL REFERENCES

4  =IF this is true – do this… if not true – then, do this  =IF(A3>=20, “200,000”,”0”)  The above if function is read stating.. If the amount in A3 is greater than or equal to 20(than type) 200,000… If not, (than type) 0. IF FUNCTION

5  What if Assumptions & Projected Sales  July – December  Bonus – etc.  Use this page to enter the data in the Excel Sheet PAGE 143 – HAS INFORMATION FOR

6  B14 Cost of Goods Sold =B13*(1-B4)  Revenue times (1minus Margin %)  B15 Gross Margin =B13-B14  Revenue minus Cost of Goods Sold  B18 Bonus =IF(B13>=B7,B2,0)  Bonus equals value in B2 or 0  B19 Commission =B13*B3  Revenue times Commission %  B20 Marketing =B13*B5  Revenue times Marketing %  Continue with Book – for B21, B22, B23, and B25 TURN TO PAGE 163 TABLE 3-7 USE THE TABLE TO ENTER FORMULAS

7  Turn to Page Excel 3 – 170  Click in the Cell – where you want to insert the Sparkline chart  Click on Insert  Click “Sparklines”  Click on Line  Then – either type the range of the data to be charted… (e.g., B13:G13) or click and drag through the data that you wish to chart – the Sparkline (Click in B13 and drag through to G13 to select the range) SPARK LINE CHARTS

8  Click on Design  Click on More  Choose the Accent 1 (no darker or no lighter) FORMAT AND COPY SPARKLINE CHART

9  Select B12:G12  Hold down the Ctrl Key  Select B25:G25  (This selects non-adjacent cells)  Click Insert  Choose Pie Chart 3-D PIE CHART
