2 TOKYO, JAPAN - Japan’s capital city is Tokyo - Location: Honshu Island East Coast - Home to the Japanese government, Imperial Palace and the Japanese Imperial Family

3 THE HISTORY OF TOKYO - Tokyo was originally named Edo - Apart of the Musashi Province - Edo grew into one of the world’s largest cities - 1868 (renamed)

4 Climate: - Winter, from December to February, is quite dry and sunny along the Pacific coast and the temperatures rarely drop below 32°F. - Spring is from March to May. Temperatures are warm but not too hot, plus there isn’t too much rain. The famous cherry blossoms are out during this time and there are plenty of festivals to enjoy. - Summer begins in June and the country experiences a three to fourweeks rainy season during which the farmers plant their rice. The weather can also be very hot & humid. - Autumn is from September to November and is characterised by light breezes and cooler temperatures of around 46-50ºF.

5 Activities Mt. Fuji Tokyo Skytree Mt. Fuji is the tallest and active volcano in Japan. Tokyo Skytree is a broadcasting, restaurant and observation tower in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan.

6 Attractions Tokyo Disneyland Imperial Palace Tokyo Disneyland was the first disney park that was constructed outside the United States. Imperial palace is the residence of the Emperor and the Empress.
