2 Climate of the Southeast This region has a subtropical climate. This means that the weather is usually humid and hot with a lot of rainfall.

3 Seasons The Southeast United States experiences all four seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall).

4 Temperature In 2012 the average temperatures for the Southeast Region were: Winter- 50.4 degrees Fahrenheit Spring- 66.5 degrees Fahrenheit Summer- 78.1 degrees Fahrenheit Fall- 62.9 degrees Fahrenheit

5 Rainfall Another word for rainfall is precipitation The southeast region experiences a lot of rainfall. In 2012 the Southeast region overall received 47.25” of rain! This was 2.91” below their average rainfall.

6 Tornado Tornadoes tend to occur in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The tornado season is from March- May. April being the strongest month. There is also a peak in tornadoes during November and February.

7 Hurricanes Hurricane season is from June 1 st to November 30 th. All coastal states of this region can experience hurricanes.
