2 DEMONSTRATIVES In English grammar, the words `this', `that', `these', and `those' are called demonstratives.

3 DEMONSTRATIVES “This” is used for singular nouns that are physically close to the speaker. Eg: This is really good. “That” is used for singular nouns that are physically far from the speaker. Eg: That is the place.

4 DEMONSTRATIVES “These” (plural form of this) is used for plural nouns that are close to the speaker. Eg: These are a lot of fun. “Those” (plural form of that) is used for plural nouns that are far from the speaker. Eg:Those are really good English books.

5 DEMONSTRATIVE ADJECTIVES They are used as adjectives, and agree with their nouns in number. They are the only adjectives to do this. Examples This book is really good. That restaurant is really good. These games are very funny. Those English books are interesting.
