Introducing HomeSafe Employee Presentation March, 2015

Introducing…HomeSafe The Brand Story HomeSafe is more than a brand – it’s a call to action meant to focus us all on the ultimate goal of our safety efforts: zero harm. HomeSafe is a personal story about why we work safely – so we can all go home safely at the end of every shift. It reinforces our most important value: Life Matters Most. HomeSafe reminds us that our family and friends need us, and depend on us to come home safely. They are our reason to get HomeSafe.

Introducing…HomeSafe The Artwork (Logo) Concept The visual brand is a home, meant to serve as a constant reminder of those we love and why we need to work safely. The “H” and “S” in the logo not only represent ‘HomeSafe’, but also ‘Health & Safety’ The “S” in the logo is portrayed as a road or pathway to the home. It is meant to represent our collective journey to zero harm.

The Journey to HomeSafe How we Arrived at the New Brand Idea to re-brand came directly from feedback from Employee Engagement Sessions last summer. More than 200 submissions received by SafeProduction re-brand team in response to call for ideas. Multiple employees suggested the new name, or a variation of it, as well as the concepts that support the new brand.

HomeSafe: The Tools

HomeSafe is an evolution of SafeProduction, and the risk management tools that will continue to guide us An Orientation Manual will be provided to all employees, outlining the brand story, concepts and key tools to safely manage risk in the workplace.

The Golden Rules The Golden Rules will continue to be our primary instructions to control risk in order to achieve zero harm.

HomeSafe: The Tools Four Distinctive Actions Care for Each Other Plan all Work Accept Boundaries Lead by Example The “0” inside the four distinctive actions represents our goal of zero harm

HomeSafe: The Tools Risk Matrix The Risk Matrix will continue to be our guide to assess the level of risk before and after controls are in place.

HomeSafe: The Tools Hierarchy of Controls The higher up the Hierarchy of Controls, the more effective we are at eliminating exposure to hazards

HomeSafe: The Tools Managing Risk to Get HomeSafe This tool will replace ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable); very simply, we need to manage risk in our workplace to a level that ensures we get home safely and in the same condition we arrived.

HomeSafe: The Tools Triggers to Move to a JHA This tool will continue to be our guide to determine when a formal risk assessment such as a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) is required.

HomeSafe: The Tools SLAM is every employee’s opportunity to stop and review our work for potential risk to ourselves, others, the environment or the workplace. A lot of feedback was received from employees on how to simplify and improve SLAM, in order to make it more effective in managing risk. This has been reflected in the new SLAM tool. It is imperative we continue to Stop, Look and Assess hazards before we begin work, and revisit our SLAMs during the course of work if the environment or work itself has changed. We can then use our HomeSafe tools to Manage those hazards to work to go HomeSafe and achieve zero harm. SLAM
