I love to travel.

 I expect you to be here and be on time. If everyone is at class on time, I will allow you to leave two to three minutes early.  Remember, you are in a classroom; therefore, we will remain focused on instruction and learning from bell-to-bell.  I expect you to be an active listener and courteous participant.  There will be a single bathroom pass. If the pass is being used, you can not go. One person to the bathroom at a time.  I will respect you – always. Any form of disrespect will not be tolerated.

 If you have missed a class, you are responsible for getting the work (and handouts) you missed.  You are required to come see me before or after school to get absent work.  Do not ask me before, after, or during class: “What did I miss yesterday?”  You have one day for everyday missed to complete absent work.  Absent work can be found in the binder for your class with your name at the top (English III).

 My tutorial schedule is posted on the door with specific days and times I will be available for you.  However, I am very flexible; if you need to see me at another time, just ask!  Posted Tutorial Schedule:  Mondays: By appointment only  Tuesdays: 8:15 – 8:45  Wednesdays: By appointment only  Thursdays: 4:15 – 4:45  Friday: By appointment only

 Please refer to the Denton ISD website for any questions.  Any minor or major summative grade can be re-assessed within:  10 days of the work being due if it was not turned in on time or;  10 days of the grades being posted and being returned.  You must attend a mandatory tutorial before you can re- assess so you can show learning has happened.  This is a learning process. Please be flexible!

 I expect you to stay informed of your academic progress in this class as well as others.  You and your parents have access to my online gradebook at all times.  If you do not know your TAC login or password, I can help you get those during tutorials

 If you walk in late, you better walk in with a pass.  If you are tardy, sign the tardy log upon entering the classroom.  I adhere to the DHS tardy policy.  Upon your 3 rd tardy, you earn a referral.  Make good choices; choose to be here on time! You’ll get to leave early if everyone arrives on time.

 I believe in and promote the use of technology to aid learning!  However, I will not tolerate off-task behavior.  If I see your cell phone, it’s mine until the end of class.  I will work hard to make this class enjoyable and meaningful for you; when you text during class you are missing out and disrespecting our time together.  Habitual cell phone use will result in surrendering your phone everyday, Friday D-Halls, and parent phone calls.  There is a space on the board that will tell you what level (no cell phones, academic use only, free use) of cell phone use is possible.

 You may bring a snack and/or a drink to my class.  I want you “here” in every sense of the word. If a snack or drink will help you concentrate in class, bring it.  Pick up behind yourself! It is not my job nor the custodians to pick up what you should have thrown away.  Food and drinks are a privilege in this classroom.

 Be prepared everyday.  Bring your binder everyday.  Bring a pen or pencil everyday.  If you do not have what you need: paper, pen, etc., take care of it before the tardy bell. Paper, pens, and pencils can always be found in the same place.

 If you finish the day’s task with class time left, you will have 3 choices. You may:  Read from a book in the library;  Answer one of life’s big questions;  Work on homework for another class.  Just chillin’, socializing, sleeping, etc. will not be one of your choices if you finish your work early – so don’t rush it. Give your best effort – always!

 Verbal and/or written warning  Parent phone call  Mandatory Tutorial  Referral

 You need to bring a ½” or 1” binder to leave in the classroom. In each binder you need to have 5 dividers and plenty of notebook paper.  You will need to have at least one pen and pencil per class. I have some but to borrow one, you need to leave something of value with me (for example, a cell phone or driver’s license) that will be returned once my writing utensil is returned.

 I need some items for my classroom. I will create a spreadsheet and based on the items you bring, you will be allowed to sit in the beanbags one day… possibly more for more items.  Needed supplies:  Kleenex  Pencils  Pens (blue, black, or red)  Notebook paper  Printer paper  Art supplies (markers, colored pencils, crayons)

 A2: “@bef” to 81010  B2: “@d8cae” to 81010  A3: “@ab27f” to 81010  B3: “@0acab” to 81010  A4: “@7d0fd” to 81010
