1 Pre-graduatePost-graduateProfessional Goals: 1.Increase didactic exposure 2.Increase IPPE and APPE exposure Objectives: 1.Incorporate pain and palliative care education into ACPE accreditation reviews 2.Review and improve both quantity and depth of NAPLEX licensure questions 3.Review and potentially revise IASP curricular recommendations for schools / colleges of pharmacy Goals: 1.Improve / increase exposure to pain and palliative care in PGY1 residencies 2.Improve consistency among PGY2 specialty residencies (Geriatrics, Heme-Onc, Pain, Palliative Care, Community clinical Objectives: 1.Develop core standards PGY1 and aforementioned PGY2 residencies 2.Develop core standards for Pain and /or Palliative Care Pharmacy Fellowships 3.Seek support of results from professional organization stake- holders Goals: 1.Improve the skills, attitudes, and knowledge base of practicing licensed pharmacists regarding pain and palliative care in all practice settings 2.Reach consensus on pain and palliative care credentialing for pharmacists with therapeutic expertise Objectives: 1.Develop content for master curricula (sub-curricula for practice setting) 2.Develop content for “train the trainer” educational programming 3.Address state-mandated continuing education credit requirements towards pain and palliative care 4.Address expertise recognition / credentialing Mission: To improve and impact the attitude, knowledge, and skills of pain and palliative care across the professional continuum of pharmacy
