1 Weekly Objectives  Students will understand and appreciate an epic poem.  Students will determine the meaning of unknown words by using context clues.  Students will understand an epic poem.  Students will utilize various reading strategies to monitor comprehension.  Students will demonstrate mastery of literary terms, mystery unit, word knowledge, and English conventions of grammar by taking a comprehensive assessment.  The students will write for a variety of purposes and audiences using the Standard English conventions of grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.
