3 What is a Virus? A virus is a Harmful software sent through emails, websites and other internet based programs. They are unwanted and can delete files and programs from your computer.

4 What Damage can a Virus do? It can delete your files It can crash your computer It can take over your computer

5 Different types of viruses The most popular viruses are ones like the I U virus, the worm virus and many more which you’ve probably heard of. File Infections- This virus infects programs with an.EXE or.COM extension.This is the what most viruses do now. Worm viruses- this is a program very similar to a virus. It leads to negative effects on your computer. Trojans/Trojan Horses- these are unlike viruses and do not reproduce or infect other files There are also many more...

6 How can you stop Viruses getting on your computer? To prevent viruses you can get anti-virus software but you will need to update this everyday as new viruses are made everyday. You can also not open emails as this is the most likely source which will have one in.

7 Are there any drawbacks to using anti- virus software? You need to update it everyday or every two days. They can not also work and if downloaded wrong definitely don’t. They are expensive

10 What is hacking? Hacking is when someone breaks into your computer and can see your personal files, pictures and other private things.

11 What damage can Hackers do? Hackers can steal credit card details and use them to buy stuff. They can also steal your identity and other documents and sell them.

12 How can you stop hackers! You can use a password containing 6 or more characters containing letters and numbers to make it stronger. You can also install firewall as this will tell you when someone is hacking.

14 Why is it important to backup your work/information? It is important to Back up your work because if you delete something you have a extra copy. Also in case you lose your memory stick and it’s only on that. It can save you getting into a lot of trouble.

15 What should you back it up to? The best thing to save it to is probably a USB as this is portable, light and easy to transport. You can also back it onto a CD-ROM.

16 Where should you keep your backed up work? If a USB you should keep it on you and you can do this to if it’s a CD-ROM.

17 How can you keep your backup safe? Use a Password DON’T leave on computer DON’T Lose them DON’T Give them to people

18 How to back up with a USB Press save as then find your USB name and click. Then name your file and press save (my file is now there).
