2. About Cryo-Ops The 1 st Cryo-Ops Workshop was organized by JLab in 2004 It has been held every 2 years since: 2006 – SLAC 2008 – CERN 2010 – TRIUMF 2012 – KEK The Cryogenic operations environment has changed greatly in the last 10 years: larger, more diverse, new challenges

3. About Cryo-Ops From the start, Cryo-Ops was meant to differ from and complement existing conferences like ICEC and CEC Differences include: Stress on the operation, including commissioning, of cryogenic systems rather than R&D in cryogenics Trading of experience & lessons learned in cryogenic operations Always held at an operating cryogenic facility Workshop Format – no parallel sessions, more time for discussion Slightly different attendee list: more operators & technicians - industry representatives included in later workshops

4. Workshop Goals Exchange information and experience on cryogenic operations issues including: reliability, maintenance, cryoplant operations and control, process control and instrumentation, safety and project management Facilitate professional contacts for future collaborations or communications Encourage knowledge transfer and feedback between operators of cryoplants and the cryogenic industry Provide a look at the current state of large scale cryogenic systems at scientific facilities as well as at future facilities. Assist in overall staff development and training

5. Discussion & Interaction are Important Posters will be displayed throughout the workshop. There will be a special 15 min discussion/QA session on the posters There will be a 30 min panel discussion at the end of every day Participants are encouraged to actively participate in all such discussions If anybody wants to raise any particular issue/ topic please let the organizers know and every effort will be made to include it in the program.
