THE UNITED STATES DID NOT JOIN, EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN PRESIDENT WILSON’S BRAINCHILD. HE FAILED TO GET THE SENATE TO RATIFY THE TREATY. SINCE THE U.S. DID NOT OFFICIALLY JOIN, THE LEAGUE WAS WEAKENED FROM THE START.
