Buckinghamshire County Council Key principles Schools need to implement a clear, consistent and shared understanding of Quality First teaching (QFT) QFT is central to effective mainstreaming of gifted and talented (G&T) provision All teachers are accountable for the quality of teaching in their lessons. They have a responsibility to ensure that barriers to academic achievement and longer-term success of their pupils are identified and reduced through a whole-school focus on QFT

Buckinghamshire County Council Objectives To reflect on effective approaches for working with other teachers To explore how to share with colleagues the impact of effective practice in the leading teacher’s own classroom To explore strategies for effective collaborative CPD with a focus on effective G&T provision in the classroom and developing QFT

This session is about: reflecting on how you can use examples of effective teaching and learning from your own classroom practice (identified in workshop 1) to work with colleagues using these examples as a stimulus, exploring strategies for working collaboratively and supporting school colleagues in planning and implementing similar approaches in their classrooms Shared reflection will be a key part of this cycle, resulting in evidence of impact for dissemination across the school There will be two activities to work through
