Ensuring the Highest Resale Value for Your Aircraft Jeremy R.C. Cox JetBrokers, Inc.

Have we met? I am Jeremy Cox, a Professional Aircraft Broker based at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport, Chesterfield, Missouri (KSUS). My company is called JetBrokers. I hold an A&P IA, FCC GROL/Radar, and a Commercial Pilots Certificate.

Can you tell the difference? Which Aircraft is worth a 2.8 Million Dollars More? This one is worth $5,200,000.This one is worth $8,000,000. Can You Tell the Difference? ?

Your Aircraft Records As Much as Half of your Aircraft Value is tied to its Records How Do You Store Your Records? Do You Keep Back Up or Hard Copies? Where are all of your Tags? Do you take Photographs or Digital Pictures? Do you keep Invoices?

TRACKING What Is Important? Hard Copy or Computer Program? Total Time Landings/Cycles Flights (Pressurization Cycles, etc.) Starts Components

STORING Hail Damage is not a Value Enhancing Event Hangar whenever possible Always use the Covers, including Sunshields Always keep the Aircraft Locked with the brakes off You will be amazed by how many Line Personnel are ‘Hangar Pilots’

CLEANING An easy way to Extend the Life of your Cosmetics Don’t use Commercial Leather Cleaners Have a Teflon Coating Applied to your Paint Keep the Aircraft out of the Sun when Parked Keep a Desiccant in the Aircraft, for long term Storage

WHO IS WORKING ON YOUR AIRCRAFT? If you take your Aircraft out for Maintenance Repair Station is preferred to an A&P Is there Insurance Coverage to cover mistakes? Who will be watching your Aircraft for you?

MAINTAINING YOUR AIRCRAFT Good Maintenance is a Philosophy rather than just a Practice Factory Program is always best If you are managed on a 135 certificate, under what Type of Maintenance Program is your Aircraft maintained? Keep your Aircraft Clean Maintain proper Balance, it’s cheap!

SELF INSURANCE Service Plans or your own Bank Account? Buyer’s like Service Plan Subscriptions Do you have three or more Aircraft? What does 100% Coverage mean? Budgeting is not Brain Surgery

BIG DECISONS Should I Overhaul or Not? “Pay me now, or pay me later” You will normally get your Money Back Don’t be Cheap on Cycle Components You will not fully realize the value of: 4 Year, 6 Year, 12 Year and on, Inspections You will get between 50 and 80% back on Avionics upgrades Don’t think recuperation, think market position. The best always sells first!

REPAIRS Damage History, a Nasty Black Mark! If it was done last Month, you might see a 50%+ Loss; Ten-plus Years ago, maybe 10% Always Demand an original 337 (and 8110-3) Take Pictures Make sure all Repairs are documented If it’s a serialized component like a Flight Control, don’t allow the use of the words: “Repair”, if it is to be replaced

UPGRADES Be certain of Value; Before and After the Fact If you are removing passenger seats to comply with equipment or operational law; What’s the best Decision that you can make? Who’s STC are you going to use to remove the seat? Maybe you should keep the seat? Cabin and Entertainment Upgrades offer no real Value apart from position

AFTER MARKET Try not to be the First or the Last A Staggerwing Hawker 800 might look good on paper; how will this modification effect Value? Having the words: “EXPERIMENTAL” in your records, may effect Value Consider Aesthetics before agreeing to move forward. This applies to: Hushkits, Winglets, Lockers, Antennas, Fairings, and many, many more items Be very careful with Weight Increases

SELLING Nothing is Forever! To achieve the highest possible selling price… Follow my advice Be certain of the Marketplace and where your Aircraft fits into it Never ship your Records, always carry them on-board Hire a professional Aircraft Broker to assist and advise you, and your company

Questions and Answers Have I upset anyone? If not, why not? ????????????????????????????????????? ?
