2  Welcome to From the Stone Age to the Iron Age. The Stone Age was split into not one, not two, but three yes three sections!! These three sections are the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic. You can learn about Stonehenge, Skara brae and many more monuments. There is even a video of the Iron Age. Introduction. Enjoy your journey.

3  They produced cave paintings.(Agriculture It was a long time ago.(10,000 BC.).) The people were hunters. The people were cave people. The people were nomadic.(Moved around.) Deer were hunted and many other animals. Paleolithic

4  People used spears, bows and arrows, flint blades and animal skins to survive in the Mesolithic times. People built there own homes with turf and timber frame. People made their own music. A lot of animals, like the woolly mammoth are extinct. The land was ice age, but then turned into forest. They ate nuts,berries and fruit. The things we know about them are from the things they left behind. Mesolithic

5   Around about 5,000 BC,people started farming.  Farming spread across Europe from it’s origins in the Indus valley.  No longer did people move with the seasons, hunting had stopped and people were not nomadic.  Farmers could build bigger sturdier houses to last all year round.  The hearth was in the middle of the house.  When a person died there would be a ceremony. Neolithic

6  The Bronze Age started in roughly 2,500BC. Beaker folk brought the new style of pottery and this new material. The new material was a brilliant gold, but very bendy. It was made by mixing Copper and tin and was called bronze. This material emerged in west Asia and the east meditaranion region. Up until now the material mostly used was flint. Bronze Age.

7   It was a good thing for weapons and tools.  Things such as jewellery, things for fighting and trading were made with bronze.  Skilled metal workers made the jewellery.  Now people had this new material, men would shave and women would cut, come and braid their hair.  The effect on having copper mines was that major trading centres were formed around copper mines.
