Remember when changing decimals to fractions 0.4 is the same as 4/10 BUT You may need to show the fraction in its simplest form, so find a number that divides into the numerator and the denominator. 2 divides into 4 twice and into 10 five times so 4/10 becomes 2/5! or when changing fractions to decimals when the denominator is not a power of ten. Take 4/5 for example. You need to ‘change’ the denominator to a power of ten. 5 times by 2 gives 10 but now you need to do the same to the numerator so 4 times 2 gives 8. 4/5 is the same as 8/10 which is 0.8 as a decimal, phew!!!
