The Bermuda Triangle By : Janell Mills

The Bermuda Triangle is a area in the Atlantic ocean shaped like a triangle. It is bordered by Bermuda, Puerto Rico and a spot close to Melbourne, Florida where planes and boats are said to go missing.

The nicknames of the Bermuda Triangle is the graveyard of the Atlantic or Death’s Triangle. A large number of people believe that the number of ships and planes crash in that region is unusual. The United States Coast Guard and others disagree with that opinion because they think it has the same amount of any other place in the ocean.

A story behind the Bermuda triangle People believe that there are left over magic crystals from Atlantis that point in a certain direction and make the ships and plane disappear.

Quotes and stories about the Bermuda triangle

Last Monday evening a friend and myself departed West Palm Beach, Florida, en route to West End, Bahamas, in my 26 foot sailboat. Eleven miles offshore I looked up in the sky to the northeast and witnessed something strange. There was a single light— I'm guessing about 3 to 5 thousand feet in altitude— which I assumed to be an aircraft with it's landing light on although not very brilliant. The light then appeared to turn downward which then made me think it may be a helicopter with a searchlight, although again it wasn't a brilliant light. A swirling mist then engulfed the light as the light slowly drifted down into the mist. The whole mass of mist then glowed a short time and then dissipated along with the light. Stars could then be seen and the sky was clear. This happened at 9:30 pm EST, and my friend witnessed it too and tried to videotape it but the boat was pitching too much to get anything. My question is, have you heard of this phenomena before ? Paul Vance

“It has become a permanent part of my memory, since I have been memorizing it for over 30 years. I have done this in the hopes that someday I will contribute to the solving of this mystery.” Bruce Gernon

“I had heard about the Bermuda Triangle at this time; most every seaman about those waters had. I thought, my God I don’t want to be another statistic! We plowed ahead...or tried to. It seemed that something was pulling us back. It was like being in the middle of two people pulling on your arms. We were trying to go forward under our power but we were being restrained. When you’ve been at sea for any amount of time, especially on tugs, you get a feel for it; you can tell when it is moving and when its being restrained; there is a vibration in a ship that is there all the time; you can tell when its going and when it isn’t.“ Don Henry
