2 Tricia Wood Taught 5 th and 6 th Grade over the last 11 years at Chandler Schools. BA in Elementary Education from ASU MA in Curriculum and Instruction from NAU. Outside of school…

3 Laurel Conard I have been teaching in the Chandler Schools for many years. Most of years have been in the 6 th grade, but I moved to the 5 th grade last year. I will be teaching a section of math and science to all of the 5 th grade students this year.

4 Brad Guggisberg Has taught in 2 nd grade, ADAPTS, and 4 th at Haley Elementary. Is dual certified in elementary ed and special ed, with a dual BA degree both. I’m a lifetime learner!

5 Kelsey Payne This is my 4 th year at Haley and my 4 th year teaching 5 th grade. BA in Elementary Education from ASU. I love teaching and working with kids, everyday is something new and exciting!

6 Reading Read and comprehend complex literary texts independently and proficiently. 8 Social Studies Reading and comprehending informational text Skills: Reading closely, citing specific textual evidence, determine central ideas, summarize key details, analyze events. Topics: U.S. Regions Native Americans Explorers American Revolution Civil War U.S. Government Economics –BizTown

9 Science Inquiry Process- Students will use scientific processes to question, plan and conduct investigations in the following strands of science. Physical Science-Motion and Force- Examine and understand the effects of force and motion in relationship to simple machines. Understand the physical and chemical properties of matter.

10 Science (continued) Life Science- Identify and understand the functions and parts of the skeletal, muscular, nervous, respiratory and digestive systems. Earth and Space Science – Understand the processes acting on the Earth and Earth’s relationship to the solar system and objects in the solar system.

11 Science (continued) History and Nature of Science- Science is a human endeavor – identify individual, cultural and technological contributions to scientific knowledge. Science in Personal and Social Perspectives- Describe the interactions between human populations, natural hazards and the environment.

Haley’s ONLY Fundraiser!  Last Year’s Success: Haley profited just over $34,000 Multiple field trips for each grade level $15,000 towards Common Core Curriculum Materials Community Builders (Sock Hop, Spring Carnival, Spirit Awards etc.) K-3 individual team request totaling $1,500 New Reader’s Theater Sets (4 th -6 th grade) $1,000 Kick-Off Oct. 22nd FUN RUN OCT. 31 st
